I was wondering if there were many (or any) women vets at Southend Athletic Club and if there are many vets track and field meetings that are attended.

I used to be involved in a lot of athletics but have had quite a few years off, I would like to get involved again now though and so thought I would enquire.

Many thanks

Well folks, our 24 seater is FULLY SUBSCRIBED and most have paid the fare - thanks for that. I have made arrangements for late comer Brian Cox to travel up in the Havens Hospices coach which leaves from Little Havens (as ours) but a little later - 7am on the day. I know that their coach is NOT FULL at this stage, so any one requiring a seat, should be in touch with Judy Grocott, the Havens Hospices Event Fundraiser on her Direct Office Line being 01702 220324 to reserve a place or places.
After the disaster and cancellation of the Christmas "do" the Rioja Lover (Ana) bullied some of the road runners amongst us into going along to the Tandoori Parlour and we had a wonderful evening. Good food and, more than anything else, good company. And can't that Jo sing - she has a fantastic voice! Those of you that didn't come along were the losers! Well done the Rioja Lover. All of us enjoyed ourselves.

Due to the poor uptake of tickets for this venue, we have had no choice but to cancel this event.

Shame as it has taken a lot of time and effort from various members of the club as well as me!

Those who have bought tickets please be assured that your money will be refunded.

Perhaps next social event will be more successful!!!

Colchester Hilly Fields XC is on 13th Dec.
Orion Harriers is on 3rd Jan.
Col venue can be sticky and very good, in the past it has been dropped at short notice as the venue gets messed up and too muddy, but its a good site.
orion is on the edge of epping forest and has a good club house and a smashing pub on site.
I commend both but hope they dont clash with the home or FA Cup fixtures of "the mighty blues"; especially away at Chelski.
