The 2009 Southend 10K Classic

The 2009 Southend 10K Classic is organised by Southend Athletic Club and sponsored by Original Sports will be held on Sunday 4th October. There will also be a children’s fun run of approximately 3k which is open to children aged 11-14 years on the day.
NO ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN ON THE DAY
The current race records are 28m 49s (men) and 33m 18s (women). The course is virtually flat and is mostly run along the seafront. With co-operation of Southend Borough Council and Essex Police we are now able to provide a traffic free course.
Last year there were 1542 finishers in the 10k and 84 finishers in the 3k fun run.

LATEST INFORMATION
We aim to start processing entries shortly. However, numbers and electronic chips will not be sent out until about 4 weeks prior to the race. Those runners who entered on-line should keep their on-line receipts. For those runners who submitted cheques we will start to bank them from about 15th July. We do however wait until we have a sufficient number of cheques for banking by batch.
